Girls Thrive offers four sessions per year, and engages in a variety of community events during our "off season."

Fall Session

Our program year follows the school year, so we count the Fall Session as the start of our season. The Fall Session runs for eight weeks, starting in the beginning of September and wrapping up at the end of October. Girls can participate in rock climbing, running, mountain biking, and other fun activities. Educational lessons are provided every session in the areas of body image, nutrition, goal-setting, confidence building, and many more. Practices are offered three times per week. Participating in all three days is highly encouraged in order to reap the full benefits of the program.

Winter Session

We get creative during the winter; instead of mountain biking and running, we enjoy activities like rock climbing, skiing, hiking, and taking time for classes on other important topics like cooking healthy meals and how to nourish our bodies with good food.

The winter session runs for 6 weeks, from January through February, and we try to schedule the activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This varies year to year based upon weather, equipment, and availability of coaches.

Girls Thrive participants volunteered with Prickly Pear Land Trust during the Spring 2017 session to learn about how to take good care of the trails we rely on for so much of our program.

Spring Session

Our Spring Session is set up with the same schedule as the Fall Session, with activities on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (rock climbing, running/cross-training, and mountain biking, respectively). Girls can sign up to participate on one, two, or all three of the activity days. We incorporate the Beauty Redefined curricula throughout.

The grand finale of the Spring Session is the Governor's Cup race, where the girls who are interested can choose to either run or volunteer. It’s a great way to practice all that we’ve learned throughout the session!

Summer confidence clinic

This is our newest addition to the GT offerings and takes place in August. Curriculum will focus specifically on confidence-building through education and activities to head into the school year. The clinic takes place for two full days of learning, prior to the school year start.
